Taare zameen par for Modi
Narendra Modi has a huge following in Bollywood and some of them may canvass for him in this Lok Sabha election.
Over the past four years, around 20 stars
have made a beeline to Gujarat for reasons as varied as film shoots,
the establishment of entertainment zones, and solar power plant
investments. In many instances, these stars openly supported Modi, some
even endorsing his candidature for the PM's job. While the Congress is
still drawing up plans for its 'star campaigners', the BJP has a range
of actors to choose from. In 2009, for the first time, a Bollywood actor
approached Modi with a business plan. The actor, Anupam Kher, wanted to
start an acting school in Ahmedabad.
The following year, Big B signed up as Gujarat's brand ambassador during a special screening of his film "Paa". Apparently the actor had proposed, and the chief minister accepted.
