Hot support to the PM candidate

Mallika Sherawat | She crooned Happy Birthday for the "most eligible bachelor", Modi, in September last year. The style was just like Marilyn Monroe who had sung a birthday song for John F Kennedy. The video went viral on YouTube and was retweeted by over a million people. She had said that he was a fit candidate to become the country's next PM.

Preity Zinta | In 2009 she met Modi over a proposed film park in the state. She had talked of Modi as the PM candidate then. Gujarat BJP is hopeful she will campaign here.

Rakhi Sawant | Bollywood's item girl had recently joined the BJP and has volunteered to campaign for Modi in the Lok Sabha polls. She has also claimed to be the "daughter of BJP".

Tarak Mehta Team | Stars of the popular TV serial, "Tarak Mehta ka Ulta Chasma", campaigned for the BJP in the 2012 assembly elections and are likely do so again in the LS polls.

Smriti Irani | Former TV star and now the BJP's Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat, she campaigned extensively in 2012. She is expected to play a big campaigning role in Gujarat in 2014.

Meghna Patel | This obscure model from Mumbai shot to fame when she almost bared it all in support of Modi's PM candidature in February. Her Modi admiration involves roses — not in the bouquet form.

Namitha | Surti siren Namita Vankawala, worshipped as Namitha by film lovers in the South, is expected to make a grand entry into Tamil Nadu politics soon. "The announcement about my entry into a party will be made in the coming days in Chennai," said the 32-year-old Namitha. She has two temples dedicated to her on the outskirts of Coimbatore and Madurai. As for campaigning in Surat, the BJP president of Surat, Purnesh Modi, said: "We might call her to campaign for our candidate, Darshana Jardosh." It is likely that Namitha will join the AIADMK led by Jaylalithaa.

Mona Thiba | Mona Thiba, a Gujarati film actress and an admirer of Narendra Modi, accompanied him to a roof-top in Amraiwadi on Uttarayan day in 2011 for kite-flying festivities. Modi had visited the area after a Vibrant Gujarat summit. It is to be seen if she will campaign for him.

Akshay Kumar | This action star had endorsed the Khel Mahakumbh for three years in a row. Modi had claimed that he loved Kumar's commitment to fitness and staying healthy. He is most likely to campaign for Modi in the coming elections.

Paresh Rawal | He supported the Sadhbhavna fast in 2011. Then he campaigned for the BJP in the 2012 assembly polls. An ardent Modi fan, he is playing the role of Modi in an upcoming biopic. There are chances that Rawal will fight LS elections from Ahmedabad (East) or Kheda on a BJP ticket.

Hema Malini | She joined the BJP in 2004 and has been an active campaigner. She is expected to visit Gujarat this year, though she is contesting from the Mathura Lok Sabha seat.

Ajay Devgn | He met Modi while setting up a solar power plant in Patan. Devgn conducted the first Google hangout for Modi in 2013. It's to be seen if he'll campaign in Gujarat.

Vivek Oberoi | In 2012, Oberoi met Modi and proposed investing in an entertainment park. He's to play the role of the young Modi in a biopic. He's sure to canvass in state.

Anupam and Kirron Kher | In 2008 Anupam invited Modi to watch 'A Wednesday', on 2006 Mumbai blasts. In 2009, Anupam's acting school opened in Ahmedabad. He and his wife Kirron will campaign in Gujarat. Kirron is the BJP candidate from Chandigarh.

Shatrughan Sinha | Once a Modi critic, Sinha now vociferously praises Modi and has campaigned in Gujarat in the past for the BJP. He is likely do so again this year although he is the BJP candidate from Patnasahib.

Jackie Shroff | Shroff had called on Modi in August 2012 along with industrialist Mihir Pandya for a mini film city project which was to be set up near Nalsarovar. Shroff had met Modi for the first time in 2011. BJP may approach Shroff for campaigning.

Salman Khan | The best man ... should be the PM, the good man (Modi) is...next to me," Khan is quoted as saying. He had come to Gujarat to request Modi to exempt his "Jai Ho" from tax. His Gujarat canvassing is unlikely though.
