Salman Khan’s Big Plans For Being Human

Slowly but steadily, the macho and Dabangg superstar Salman Khan is turning into a shrewd, able businessman! With the success of his Being Human Line of clothing, Salman is gearing up for a renewed phase of expansion. 

Speaking about his future plans for the charitable organisation he runs, under which the Being Human brand operates, Salman Khan proudly said: “We are doing pretty okay and now we want to start cafes, gyms and all that kind of stuff. All the money we make will go straight back into the charitable trust after paying taxes.” 

Number crunching has never exactly seemed to be the chilled- out Khan’s forte, but Salman talked figures, when he added, “A lot of people are buying ‘Being Human’ clothing and we are doing pretty well. This year we plan to open about 40 more stores and we would be in about 1,850 selling points. Plus we have tied up with Sri Lanka.” 

In one year alone, Salman Khan’s Being Human Line of clothing has seen mass popularity. With the flagship store located in Mumbai, and with the brand retailing in multiple locations all over the country, including Bangalore, Chandigarh, Vadodara etc, the line of clothing and apparel is going great guns. 

Said Salman, admitting that the pickup hasn’t been as fast as they would have loved: “We are trying to start as many permanent things, that’s the reason we are slow. It shouldn’t be that we start something in a hurry and then it shuts down. We got the clothing line and it’s doing really well. Then we will start a few more things.” 

The jovial Salman Khan added, “The important thing is that whoever we want to partner with, we want them to make money. Then it’s their call whether they want to give it to charity or keep it for themselves.”

Well, after this hattrick, we weren’t surprised that Ranveer Singh’s lady love has the highest number of followers on Facebook. Dippy has 15 million fans, the highest for any Bollywood actor. Though Salman Khan follows her closely at 14 million, he still lags behind by a huge gap. Amitabh Bachchan has 10 million followers, while Shahrukh Khan has 7.6 million. 

For a female actor in an industry run by the Khans primarily, this is a big feat. A source close to the actor disclosed to us that she “has always attributed her success to her fans that have stood by her throughout her journey in the industry”.

Salman Khan Hit And Run Case: Witnesses Fail To Appear

The first three witnesses that had to be examined by the prosecution in regards to the hit and run case involving Salman Khan failed to appear in the sessions court on March 26, 2014, due to which the trial could not begin. 

One of the witness, is the owner of a laundry in suburban Bandra, where Salman Khan had run over his vehicle on people sleeping on the footpath, while the other two are panch witnesses. 

Prosecutor Jagannath Kenjalkar, informed the court that the laundry owner could not appear as he had been paralysed, one of the panch witnesses was not traceable while the other had gone to Bangalore. 

The judge D. W. Deshpande adjourned the matter and the next hearing is scheduled for April 08, 2014, when the prosecution would examine another set of witnesses, who were injured in the mishap. 

Salman Khan is facing the charge of running over his Toyota Land Cruiser on a group of persons sleeping on a footpath outside a bakery in suburban Bandra on September 28, 2002, killing one and injuring four others. 

Salman Khan also did not come to the court as he has secured permanent exemption from appearance. His lawyer Srikant Shivade was, however, present during the proceedings. 

Although the prosecution has given a list of sixty four witnesses, it would not examine all of them, according to the public prosecutor. The prosecution had earlier submitted documents such as death certificate (of the person who was killed in the mishap) and injury certificates (of those who were injured in this case. 

The court had admitted these documents after Salman Khan‘s lawyer submitted his say on admissibility of the documents. 

The case, dragging on for over a decade, had taken a twist earlier this year when the magistrate, after examining seventeen witnesses, held that the charge of culpable homicide was made out against Salman Khan and referred the matter to a sessions court, as cases under this offence are tried by a higher court. 

‘Dhoom’ time for Salman Khan?

Mumbai: Aamir Khan created history with ‘Dhoom 3’ last year after having failed to impress the Box Office with ‘Talaash’ in 2012. The third instalment of the ‘Dhoom’ series turned out to be jackpot of sorts and set newer standards for Bollywood films.

And if the latest buzz is anything to go by, then Aamir’s buddy- Salman Khan- may feature in the fourth franchise of the blockbuster ‘Dhoom’ series. Mr Perfectionist of Hindi Cinema played a baddie onscreen for the first time in ‘Dhoom 3’ and Salman may follow in the footsteps of his dear friend.

Produced by the Yash Raj Films banner, the ‘Dhoom’ series have been loved by movie goers. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra have been regular features of the film series in question even as rest of the cast kept changing. The first instalment had John Abraham, the second had Hrithik Roshan and the third had Aamir essaying the role of the antagonist.

And if all goes well, we may see Salman donning the villain’s cap.

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi celebrated kite festival in Ahmedabad with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.

The two shared lunch and had traditional Gujarati variety Undhdhiyu and Jalebi.

Salman was in Ahmedabad to attend a promotional event for his next film 'Jai Ho'.

On Narendra Modi, the Bollywood star said that, "I have seen so much development in Gujarat but I am not from here." He also said that, "Modi should get what the future holds for him."

Staying away from any controversial statement, Salman added that, "My personal opinion — I have met Modi for the first time and I liked it. I hope we meet again."

Modi also tweeted about his meeting with Salman and posted photos with the superstar.

Khan and Modi stayed with each other for almost the whole day and visited several places to celebrate kite festival.

Smriti Irani | Former TV star and now the BJP's Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat, she campaigned extensively in 2012. She is expected to play a big campaigning role in Gujarat in 2014.

Meghna Patel | This obscure model from Mumbai shot to fame when she almost bared it all in support of Modi's PM candidature in February. Her Modi admiration involves roses — not in the bouquet form.

Namitha | Surti siren Namita Vankawala, worshipped as Namitha by film lovers in the South, is expected to make a grand entry into Tamil Nadu politics soon. "The announcement about my entry into a party will be made in the coming days in Chennai," said the 32-year-old Namitha. She has two temples dedicated to her on the outskirts of Coimbatore and Madurai. As for campaigning in Surat, the BJP president of Surat, Purnesh Modi, said: "We might call her to campaign for our candidate, Darshana Jardosh." It is likely that Namitha will join the AIADMK led by Jaylalithaa.

Mona Thiba | Mona Thiba, a Gujarati film actress and an admirer of Narendra Modi, accompanied him to a roof-top in Amraiwadi on Uttarayan day in 2011 for kite-flying festivities. Modi had visited the area after a Vibrant Gujarat summit. It is to be seen if she will campaign for him.

Akshay Kumar | This action star had endorsed the Khel Mahakumbh for three years in a row. Modi had claimed that he loved Kumar's commitment to fitness and staying healthy. He is most likely to campaign for Modi in the coming elections.

Paresh Rawal | He supported the Sadhbhavna fast in 2011. Then he campaigned for the BJP in the 2012 assembly polls. An ardent Modi fan, he is playing the role of Modi in an upcoming biopic. There are chances that Rawal will fight LS elections from Ahmedabad (East) or Kheda on a BJP ticket.

Hema Malini | She joined the BJP in 2004 and has been an active campaigner. She is expected to visit Gujarat this year, though she is contesting from the Mathura Lok Sabha seat.

Ajay Devgn | He met Modi while setting up a solar power plant in Patan. Devgn conducted the first Google hangout for Modi in 2013. It's to be seen if he'll campaign in Gujarat.

Vivek Oberoi | In 2012, Oberoi met Modi and proposed investing in an entertainment park. He's to play the role of the young Modi in a biopic. He's sure to canvass in state.

Anupam and Kirron Kher | In 2008 Anupam invited Modi to watch 'A Wednesday', on 2006 Mumbai blasts. In 2009, Anupam's acting school opened in Ahmedabad. He and his wife Kirron will campaign in Gujarat. Kirron is the BJP candidate from Chandigarh.

Shatrughan Sinha | Once a Modi critic, Sinha now vociferously praises Modi and has campaigned in Gujarat in the past for the BJP. He is likely do so again this year although he is the BJP candidate from Patnasahib.

Jackie Shroff | Shroff had called on Modi in August 2012 along with industrialist Mihir Pandya for a mini film city project which was to be set up near Nalsarovar. Shroff had met Modi for the first time in 2011. BJP may approach Shroff for campaigning.

Salman Khan | The best man ... should be the PM, the good man (Modi) is...next to me," Khan is quoted as saying. He had come to Gujarat to request Modi to exempt his "Jai Ho" from tax. His Gujarat canvassing is unlikely though.

Salman Khan Gets Furious with Akshay Kumar, Walks Out of Shoot

Superstar Salman Khan's infamous temper has got the better of him yet again.
It was recently reported that Salman Khan would make a guest appearance in a special song in Akshay Kumar produced "Fugly," featuring both Khan and Kumar along with the film's young cast Mohit Marwah, Vijender Singh, Arfi Lamba and Keira Advani.
Both the stars were also seen shooting for the track voiced by rapper Honey Singh, but now it has come out that Khan has walked out of the shoot mid-way. The "Jai Ho" actor was allegedly furious after realising that Kumar was given more highlight than him in the song and exited the scene abruptly.
"Sallu did not know about the details of the song and was briefed when he arrived on the set. Since Akshay had more screen time in the song, he coolly walked off after shooting the first stanza of the song, much to everyone's shock," informed an insider to Times of India and added, "There is no verbal exchange between the two now as Salman didn't shoot for the whole song in the first place. They have somehow managed to wrap it up with Akki and the rest of the actors."
Khan apparently refused to complete the shooting of the entire song and left the team in crisis.
