The 21-year-old ‘Come & Get It’ singer has fired her mother and father, who had acted as her managers since her 2007 breakout role in the Disney show ‘Wizards of Waverly Place.’ Did her parents’ disapproval of her tumultuous relationship with Justin play a role in Selena’s decision?

Selena Gomez has grown so much, both emotionally and professionally, over the past couple of years, so we’re not surprised that she decided to end her working relationship with her parents, Mandy and Brian Teefey, in March. But was the firing more than just a business decision? Selena and her parents have butted heads over her relationship with Justin Bieber, 20, in the past, and the family friction has reportedly been mounting ever since the on-again, off-again couple reunited in early March.

Although Selena has argued with Mandy and Brian over her career goals and her romance with the Biebs, the singer actually decided to move on because she feels she’s “outgrown her parents,” and she wants to have a more experienced manager who has other A-list clients.

We’re relieved to hear that Selena still has a strong relationship with her parents, and we hope that they will be able to work out their issues, because it looks like the Biebs isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
